A Message by George Carlin

Yet another Gem from my inbox ... I do hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

This is a master piece.. If you have not read it take the time to read it now. And ... If you have read it take time to read it again!

GEORGE CARLIN ( Who died not long ago.) Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent ... and so very appropriate.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints.

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time.

We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space.

We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships.

These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight or show it to others ...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember; say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Love life and live it creatively,

Leanne

What Do You See In Your Future?

When I look into the future, it's so bright it burns my eyes. ~Oprah Winfrey

Do you have a vision for your life?

Do you wake up each morning full of energy and enthusiasm for the new day?

What's your reason why?

What do you see in your future?

Look for the bigger picture in what you do and you'll find your level of energy and enthusiasm for even the smallest of tasks will rise ... it's like magic.

The Ripple Effect

This week's been another very interesting week for me. For the first time in a long time I’ve been unwell and had to spend time in bed.

And it’s been an impactful week, full of learnings and aha’s.

I’ve spend a week listening to my body and gathering information about me and the life I’ve created for myself.

In many respects I have a great life. I live with a man who adores me unconditionally, whether I’m sugar and spice and all things nice ... or not so nice ... whatever the case may be.

I have 3 intelligent, healthy and gorgeous daughters, I have a loving and loveable extended family and some of THE greatest friends any body could ever wish for.

You know those friends who love and adore you just the way you are ... AND ... know you are still learning just like them! Holding you accountable for everything that happens (which you know you are, but sometimes you need a little reminder ;)

Friends who ring you up just because ... and give you that little ‘tweek’ to reframe you thoughts.

Friends who realize how great you are ... even when you don’t really understand that quite the way you should, but it holds you accountable to be the best you can possible be.

So I spent the week with my well worn copy of Louise Hay, You Can Heal Your Body looking up my ailments, thinking, tapping (I’m into EFT at the moment) and randomly opening some of the many newsletters I subscribe to.

Our Physical bodies offer us so much information. Candace Pert, PhD, the Georgetown University professor who wrote Molecules of Emotion once said that if you want to see your subconscious mind, then just look in the mirror. Yes, our body is its visible manifestation. And there’s more.

Dr Pert ‘discovered’ that the neuropeptides generated by our thoughts and emotions talk to every cell of our body. However, this communication is not a one way street. By sensing our body’s feelings, we get a clue as to what our deeper conscious minds ... and intelligences ... are saying.

So by paying attention to our physical sensations we begin to understand what’s beyond our conscious awareness. Our limbic system, those brain organs that make up our ancient mid-brain, is the direct link between our mind and our body.

Therefore, taking that one step further ... if we can begin effectively ‘listening’ to our body by noticing sensations like muscle tension, gut feelings, blood pressure and so on, then we may be able to relate what’s going on in our body to the content of our feelings and emotions.

I’ve spent the week following the clues my body was giving me about what was going on in my unconscious mind so that I can create my life in the way I REALLY want to create it.

I started out with questions like:

If I’m on the right path then give me sign in a way I wouldn’t expect that shows me this is so?

If I’m on the right path then give me a sign that clarifies this for me?

If I’m on the right path then what do I need to release in order for this to be easy to achieve?

If I’m on the right path then what do I need to understand, know ... in order to take the next step.

And you know it’s been like someone has taken me by the had and leading me along the path all week.

I’ve opened just the right newsletter, I’ve listened to the ‘perfect’ teleseminar, a friend’s rung me ‘out of the blue’ and asked all those questions I'd been ..., I’ve had just the right amount of discomfort and button pushing to encourage me to ask the questions that’s given me the answers I needed to hear.

And you know what, because I've been unwell, I've had the time to listen to the answers and integrate them into my being.

Was that information there before? Probably.

Was it information I’d read, heard, seen before? Most of it.

But out of it I got a whole lot of answers that I’ve never had in that way.

And the cherry on the cake ... Out of what I learnt this week and the shifts I’m making I got to be the catalyst for change in 2 other people’s lives ... specifically ... so the ‘ripple effect’ of my week of illness is enormous!

So, just what is your body trying to tell you?

Love life and live it creatively,

Leanne

The Roller Coaster of Life!

Today I was reading a post by Kate over at http://fiercecharlotte.blogspot.com and it really got me thinking. She wrote about how life had handed her some curve balls over the last 18 months and with her birthday coming up in a month she'd made a decision that she was:
... tired of the inertia that I’ve accumulated of hopelessness, apathy and resignation. I’m ready to look up and move away from the negative. But I don’t think it’s enough to move away from something – that just implies escapism and denial; I want to move toward something or somewhere. I want to know my destination and that what I do every day gets me a little bit closer. The real questions, though, behind moving along my journey is “Who am I?” and “Who am I meant to be?”
So ... Enough's enough and she's drawn her proverbial line in the sand! Well done Kate!

The fact is, I could so relate to where she was at that I was motivated to write a comment and as is often the way, in making the comment to Kate, I held the mirror up to myself ... it really got me thinking about my own life.

Over the last 18 months or so i too have been seriously pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone and the results are always startling.

There are times when I set an intention and everything that's so unlike the intention I've set seems to happen, it's mind blowing! It's so easy to end up in bed with the quilt over your head! ;)

And then there are other times when the opportunities just seem to drop out of the sky in apparent randomness ... and that's also mindblowing in a totaly exhilarating, let's throw a party type of way.

It was on this roller coaster of everything unlike what I wanted and everything so like what I wanted in such rapid succession that I finally got to feel what I'd heard so many people talk about in the past ... how it's possible to get excited about the things that go ... well I was about to say wrong ... but ... not to plan is probably more like the true term.

I realized last year that in the past I'd really paid lip service to that point of view. I heard it, I'd read it and a I even agreed with it ... but I hadn't personally experienced it and taken it onboard as my own way of BE-ing. Does that make sense?

I still have moments when I go into blame and abdicate my accountability however it doesn't last as long.

I still have moments when I'd like to curl up under my quilt ... however I've now realized time out is a good restorative.

And then there are those moments when life just hands out one blessing of an opportunity after another ... and more and more times I'm able to find these moments in the things and the situations and circumstances that would once upon a time have seemed like the worst thing in the world.

So the next time something goes awry ... take a few moments and see if you can turn that untoward situation into a gift, the opportunity to shed some old belief or decision that no longer serves you in the direction your now going ... I dare you!

Love life and live it creatively

What Makes Your Heart Sing

The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire.
~ Ferdinand Foch

What makes your heart sing?
What's your passion?
What do you enjoy doing?

Sometimes we need to do things to bring in the money. There are basic needs like a roof over your head and food on the table that need to be addressed, particularly if you have children.

Sometimes though we can lose the joy life because what we're spending our day doing is not our greatest love.

I'm not sure if you can relate to this or not, but what I've found is the more I focus on what I don't want, the more of what I don't want there seems to be?

Go figure!

Some how or another, one of those wonderful mysteries of life, the more fun I'm having, the more 'luck' I seem to have.

What's your experience?

Love life and live it creatively,

The Day Question?

I think, what has this day brought me, and what have I given it?

~ Henry Moore

And when I do this I've found one of the most powerful processes for me is to look for the 'gifts' in the day.

It's quite incredible that the times when I have to look the hardest for the gift ... and I find it ... they're the times when the most magical things seem to happen out of nowhere in the most unexpected way.

I'm not sure why this happens, in fact truth be know I don't really care why, I just appreciate that it is and I'm grateful that it does.

How about you ...

What has this day brought you?

What have you given it?

Love life and live it creatively,

Leanne

When 1 door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door we don't see the one opened for us.Helen Keller
