Right of Consciousness ... Co-incidence?

That same music teacher grew up and eventually bought a house.

One of her Aunt's told her that her Grandparents had bought a house in the same area. It hadn't been lived in long because shortly after the Grandmother died the Grandfather also died and the house was sold.

The house the music teacher bought needed a lot of renovation and as the old linoleum wa
s being taken out the newspapers which had been laid underneath it were revealed. They were fascinating to the Music Teacher and her brother; an eye into life at the time of there writing.

The music teacher was lucky she was observant ... she caught her brother bundling them up to take home. She was quick to bring them back into the house. They were both amazed when they spread them out to realized that their Grandparents recitals were featured on the front pages.

On preparing the house for the extension they found one section of the house which had been boarded up. When it was opened up they found a whole heap of old cookbooks and things. When they opened the books, the music teacher was stunned to find the names of her Grandparents.

Inadvertantly she had bought the house of her Grandparents. How unreal is that.

Now o
ne generation on, when the music teacher's mother comes to stay she gets to be in the house her parents had bought for them to live in as a family.

Co-incidence ... Synchronicity ... Serendipity ... who knows, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Do you have any fascinating stories like this one? Write about them in the comments or send me an email and I'll post it on the blog.

Co-Incidence?

My daughter's Piano and Singing teacher has a couple of incredible stories similar to Fritz Kreisler.
Right of Consciousness

Her Grandparents were accomplished musicans, who performed and taught and were well known in their day. They met, fell in love married, bought a house and had a child. Unfortunately just after the birth of that child the Grandmother got sick and never recovered.

The grandmother owned a beautiful piano, there were only 8 brought into Australia at the time. Her father was so distressed when one of her student's father's offered to buy her piano he told him all he wanted was 10 shilllings.

Many years later, the granddaughter, my daughter's music teacher, was studying music and needed to upgrade her piano. She looked in the Trading Post (offline version of ebay) and saw 2 advertised at the one address.

She realized she wouldn't have the funds to buy the beautiful one but thought she'd love to try it out. Packing her Grandmother's music in her bag off she went to try them out.

The old lady greeted her at the door and took her in to where the pianos were and the music teacher asked if she could just try the beautiful piano out even though she knew she wouldn't have enough money to buy it.

The old lady, being a good musician herself was happy to allow her to do so. With that the music teacher pulled out her music and prepared to sit down and play.

The old lady looked stunned when she saw the name on the top of the music.

"Where did you get that music?" she asked.

"It was my Grandmother's." was the reply.

"Oh my goodness, your Grandmother was my music teacher and this is her piano! Your Great Grandfather gave it to us for 10 shillings when she died because he was so devasted at his loss. This piano belongs to you."

The music teacher then became the proud owner of a beautiful baby grand piano, that had been brought to Australia for the Grandmother she had never met.

I just love it when I hear stories like this ... co-incidence ... serendipity ... synchronicity ... who knows, but The Right Of Consciousness was definitely at work in this case.

And you know what that wasn't the only incidence of this in this extraordinary music teacher's life ... stay tuned for the next installment.

What are you sorting for?

Well you may remember I was telling you how I set my intention to find a letterbox close to home and it turned up within 5 mintues?

The other thought that came to me when I was re-telling this to my wonderful man, was ...

How easy is it to 'miss' seeing things?

How often do you wish for things ... and when we actually commit ourselves to having them they turn out to have been there all the time?

Just like when you or someone you know buys a new car ... something you've never seen many of them on the road before and then all of a sudden they're there all the time!

I thought it was really interesting? What do you think?

The Power of Intentions

As you may or may not be aware, I've shifted home and office recently.

You know what? Very little is in the same place as it was before! It's incredible how disarming that is. It's so caught me off guard and all the 'routines' I had a the other house have become obsolete.

So how does this relate to intentions you might well ask.

Well I'll tell you.
The other day I needed a letter box. This was a very simple process at the other house, we were surrounded by them. One on each of the main roads surrounding our house and one about a one kilometre round walk. So if I wasn't able to co-ordinate it with a trip out or I was pushed for time to walk myself, one of children could go.

Here however, do you think I could remember to keep my eyes out for one on my trips out, either driving or walking? I'd get home and I still hadn't found one.

The other day I had a letter I HAD to post, it was URGENT! I HAD to have a letter box. Being someone who likes to make the most of trips out, I collected my letter and all the "No longer at this address' mail, both what I had accumulated and that which had been delivered as I was leaving and put it in the car.

I set my inte
ntion 'Today I have to post these letters and I want a letterbox near the house'.

As it happened the car was facing the other way to the direction I had to go and as the street was full of cars, I decided instead of doing a U turn I'd go up our street and down the one behind us.

As I came to the street I had to turn into to get back on track for where I was going ... guess what I saw ... you guessed it ...
directly in front of me ... was a shiny, red Australia Post letterbox!

Now, I realized that seeing as it had been grafitti 'd by some thoughtful person, as you can see in the photo, that it hadn't been put there overnight. Quite frankly I couldn't believe my eyes!

I'm not quite sure how many times I've driven down that street, even come at the street from the same angle and actually even gone for walks along that street and never until that moment had I actually seen the letterbox!

I was dumbfounded! Speechless even!

It got me to thinking ... How amazing is the Power of Intention! And I also thought ... well let's save that for next time ....
