Lilian Too says Feel the Fear of Taking Risks

Allow your thoughts to excite you. Feel the fear of taking risks. Acknowledge that it is all a little scary. Then overcome your fears by thinking about the rewards, which can be limitless. Go with the flow!
~Lilian Too

Fear is a ‘Possibility Stealer’. No-one is exempt from it, although some have got better at dealing with it. A lot of people have lived with fear for so long they don't even realize they're living with it. Yet, nothing compromises you more than the fear you've grown accustomed to.

Fear can weave itself into your thoughts every time you decide to make a change or do something differently. In that moment of decision, a trail of thoughts and feelings is ignited and entwines its way into minds … our baggage from the past … so that you can end up feeling that ‘Well … maybe this isn’t the best time …’ or other action delaying conclusions.

One way of dealing with fearful / negative feelings, which most of us have got quite proficient with, is to use it as a clue to stop what we’re doing and stay with what we know.

And yet I’m sure you know someone who never seems to let fear take over thoughts. So why is it that some people deal efficiently with fear and others don’t?

Attention and Awareness are the keys. Fear takes over your mind when you take your attention and awareness off how you’re feeling and lose yourself in your thoughts. One thought leads to another, then another and before you know it … there’s a ‘reason’ or an ‘excuse’ to stop doing what you’re doing.

Fear comes as those ‘rational’ thoughts which ‘make sense’ or confusion and inability to make a decision or worry, anxiety, regret, resentment, frustration or anger to name a few. It’s those nebulous thoughts which leave you feeling deflated and out of sorts.

The key to using fear as a catalyst are Attention and Awareness to what you’re thinking and how you’re feeling. The very moment you notice yourself feeling ‘stressed’ or out of sorts, is the very moment you need to reclaim your Attention and Awareness rather than consenting to go along with it.

And you can do this easily by maintaining your Awareness and Attention and changing the questions you ask yourself. Start your mind searching for the ‘reasons’ why you can be do and have all the awesome, beautiful, wonderful things you truly deserve in this life.

Will Things Stay the Way They Are?

Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are. ~ Bertolt Brecht

The one thing I've noticed as I've gotten older is that just because things are the way they are today doesn't mean that's what they are going to be like tomorrow ... or even 5 minutes from now.

Things can change in an instant once we make the decision to put our minds to it in a systematic way.

Relax, think about what you really want, and know in your heart that it's true or something better will come about.

Love life and live it creatively,

Leanne

Severn Suzuki speaking at UN Earth Summit 1992

This is amazing video is 15 years old. It came to me from YouTube via Facebook.

It's incredible isn't it? I was so fascinated by it that I did a bit of research into how a child could make such a speech, to such an organization. I found out that this amazing child is now an environmental activist with world wide recognition.

She made a speech to the Amana-key Business Conference in 2001. In it she tells how she came to address the United Nations as a 12 year old and the difference that speech made to her life.

It's so good I thought you might like to have a read of it yourself, so I've posted it below so you can.

Love life and live it creatively,

It's What You Say to Yourself That Counts

You can probably relate to this,

I had no time to write affirmations.

  • No matter how hard I “tried” I didn’t seem to be able to think positive thoughts for any great length of time … and …
  • As soon as I thought a negative thought I instantly started beating myself up and telling myself how dreadful I was.
  • I set goal after goal after goal and I always managed to focus on the ones I didn’t get.
  • I was taking as much massive action as I knew how and nothing seemed to be changing.
  • I was working REALLY hard and no matter how hard I worked there was always more to do.

I was frustrated, exhausted, dispirited and disillusioned and a virtual time bomb and what’s more I was a pain to all I loved and held dear.

I needed to make changes before I got changes I didn’t want!

So I went on a mission to change my life. Fortunately my passion is helping people and understanding why we behave the way we do. I’ve spent more years than I’m going to tell you studying behavior at University, through my teaching career, my outside studies and in my life.

But I was on a mission to improve myself so I attended many professional and personal development seminars and workshops and I read countless books. I always came away from everything I did feeling motivated and ready for action … and then guess what? … life kicked in! The children, my partner, the house, the shopping, work!

What I found out is that there are so many people out there who had it worse than I did and some of them looked like they had it more together than I did. The bottom line was that it certainly didn’t seem to be what happens to people that counts.

What seems to make the most difference is your attitude and what you say to yourself about what’s happened. Whether you see the glass as half full or half empty.

I was so frustrated because I knew if I could just create a better mindset then life would be so much easier. But to do that I had to have time to think about it and do stuff and I just didn’t have the time.

As a business owner, a parent and the partner of a person who worked long hours and traveled extensively I had no time to spare.

And then one day I drew the line in the sand. I decided enough is enough! Things had to change!

And it came to me; the dawn of realization. I had to change that voice inside my head. You know the one, the one that keeps up that incessant chatter of doubt and negativity. That voice that constantly has something dreadful and dismal to say about you and your luck and your life. Things like … you could never … it’s all right for them … you’ll never be able to … it wouldn’t happen to you … you’ll never keep this up … sound familiar?

So I started recording my affirmations with uplifting music behind them and playing them as I drove the children around and to appointments, as I did the housework and cooked the meals. And you know what this very simple means of subliminal messaging worked.

Within days I was exercising and loving it. I was eating better and feeling better about myself, my partner and my children. I was taking life and all its hiccups in my stride, so I was sleeping better and waking up feeling refreshed and ready for a new day.

And guess what? Because I was playing my recordings any time and anywhere, they impacted my whole family in the same way! As a result we were all enjoying life and each other much, much more.

I know that research into the effects of Subliminal Hypnosis is well documented and quite frankly from my personal experience Subliminal Hypnosis is the best.
